Abstract
The (0112BAR) twin of hexagonal close packed metals has been studied b y high-resolution electron microscopy in zinc. The atomic configuratio n of the boundary is compared to different candidate structures. Inter facial defects are characterized and the Burgers vectors of the disloc ations have been determined. Dislocations that accommodate the angular deviation and twinning dislocations, which are responsible for the tw in growth, are pointed out in this study.
