Abstract
This paper discusses how the characteristic dimensions of a suspended particle having the shape of a triaxial ellipsoid of arbitrary orienta tion are related to its projection parameters onto three mutually perp endicular coordinate planes. Relationships are obtained that explicitl y express these principal dimensions in terms of parameters that can b e measured by a television method: the three areas of the projections onto the corresponding coordinate planes and the three lengths of the projections onto the corresponding coordinate axes.
