Sm. Kolomiets, MEASURING THE GEOMETRICAL SIZE OF PARTICLES THAT HAVE THE SHAPE OF A TRIAXIAL ELLIPSOID BY A TELEVISION METHOD, Journal of optical technology, 64(8), 1997, pp. 745-746
This paper discusses how the characteristic dimensions of a suspended
particle having the shape of a triaxial ellipsoid of arbitrary orienta
tion are related to its projection parameters onto three mutually perp
endicular coordinate planes. Relationships are obtained that explicitl
y express these principal dimensions in terms of parameters that can b
e measured by a television method: the three areas of the projections
onto the corresponding coordinate planes and the three lengths of the
projections onto the corresponding coordinate axes. (C) 1997 The Optic
