Equations of the perturbative quantum chromodynamics (PQCD) in the mod
ified leading log approximation for generating functions of the multip
licity distributions (GFMD) are extended by introducing the inactivati
on mechanism for parton cascades. The precise form of this inactivatio
n term, respecting both the tree-like structure of the PQCD and the en
ergy conservation, follows from the exact analogy between the PQCD equ
ations and the general nonequilibrium and the conservative fragmentati
on-inactivation binary process in the limit of no inactivation The ina
ctivation term of the extended PQCD for the GFMD, provides a phenomeno
logical prescription to include certain aspects of hadronization in th
e PQCD approach to the problem of multiplicity distributions in high-e
nergy e(+)e(-) collisions.
