Abstract
The efficient synthesis and characterization of the trans-platinum com plex (Et3P)(2)Pt(C30H12) (2, PtDBA) is described. The X-ray crystal st ructure shows that a strained and warped annulenic core results upon i nsertion of the organometallic fragment. UV-vis data suggest electroni c delocalization is present in the macrocycle.
