Abstract
The main parameters of the laser action zones (microhardness, depth, t ribotechnical characteristics, allaying element distribution) when car bon steels are laser-borided with powder composites based on high-boro n high-melting compounds are investigated. It is demonstrated that the mass transfer of alloying elements into the pool of molten metal can be increased effectively by incorporating a surface-active element int o the powder composites.
