Abstract
An analysis of the transient response of a Fabry-Perot filter (FPF) is presented, The impact of this phenomenon on the performance of optica l frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) networks with direct detectio n is then analyzed, Results show that the transient effect of the filt er can induce a considerable power penalty in OFDM networks when high bit rates are transmitted.
