The dependence upon applied voltage of the transient photoconductive r
esponse in the nanosecond region under various excitation light intens
ities in an aluminium/tin-phthalocyanine/indium-tin-oxide (Al/alpha-Sn
Pc/ITO) sandwich cell is reported. Charge-transfer excitons and Frenke
l excitons are revealed by the technique of electric modulation reflec
tive spectroscopy. It is suggested that the photoelectric properties d
etected in the cell used may result from the dissociations arising bot
h from the charge-transfer excitons and also from the Frenkel excitons
via multistep thermalization and ionization.
