Abstract
We present 5-GHz observations of 21 polars and intermediate polars car ried out during 1990-91 using the Jodrell Bank broadband interferomete r (BBI). Radio emission was detected from five polars, of which three are new detections. One of these may be confused. Highly variable emis sion was observed from the object AE Aqr. Values for the brightness te mperature T(b) and other parameters of the emission regions have been calculated for all detected objects. The quiescent flux density of AM Her has the same value found a decade ago. Upper limits are given for the flux densities of the remaining objects.
