Abstract
A review on the use of the simplex method for searching the optimal de termining conditions in liquid chromatography is given. The advantages and disadvantages are systematized. The mathematical algorithm is des cribed, the known modifications of the algorithm are compared, and exa mples are given of the practical optimization of determining condition s in ion chromatography, The success of the procedure of simplex optim ization is associated with the problem of choosing an adequate quality test for chromatograms.
