Abstract
It is demonstrated that the preconcentration of phenol, 2-cresol, and 4-cresol can be performed by adsorption on polyurethane foam as ion pa irs of 4-nitrophenylazophenolates with the cetyltrimethylammonium cati on. The dependence of the recovery on the equilibration time, the samp le volume, and the adsorbent mass was revealed. The adsorption of phen ols as azo derivatives depends on their concentration. A test procedur e for determining total phenols was developed. The test form was used for the determination of individual phenols by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection.
