Gd. Brykina et al., CHLOROPHYLL AS A MOBILE-PHASE MODIFIER FOR THE INDIRECT DETECTION NONELECTROLYTES IN HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY, Journal of analytical chemistry, 52(10), 1997, pp. 975-978
It is demonstrated that chlorophyll can in principle be used as a modi
fier of acetonitrile-water (1 : 1) and hexane-n-butanol (96 : 4) mobil
e phases for the indirect photometric detection of phenol; o-, m-, and
p-nitrophenols; and alcohols in the visible spectral region (404 and
660 nm) in reversed-phase and normal-phase high-performance liquid chr
omatography. It is confirmed that indirect detection in chromatographi
c systems is possible when an injection of a sample disturbs the equil
ibrium distribution of at least one component of the mobile phase to t
he point where it can be detected.
