Abstract
Variations of carbon isotopic composition of modern mollusk shells wit hin the area of Belarus were determined. Interspecific isotopic variat ions within biotopes were revealed to be less significant than among t hem. The C-13 content of lacustrine shells decreases with the eutrophi cation process development. The delta(13)C values of shells from river sites were significantly lower than those of lacustrine shells.
