Abstract
Multiple imaging modalities are currently used to evaluate pathologic conditions of the knee including conventional radiography, fluoroscopy , computed tomography (CT), sonography, nuclear medicine, and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. The use of fluoroscopy and sonography to guid e interventional procedures and CT to evaluate complex fractures has b ecome routine. The imaging of most pathologic entities requires plain films. Over the past several years, the role of MR imaging in knee ima ging has steadily increased and is often the main or only imaging tool used for evaluation of suspected internal derangements. This article reviews different imaging modalities currently used for diagnosis and intervention of knee pathology.
