THE INCLUSION INTERACTIONS BETWEEN C-60 AND TERT-BUTYL-CALIX[8]ARENE IN BENZENE, TOLUENE AND CARBON-TETRACHLORIDE

In this work, the UV-Vis absorption spectra of C-60, tert - butylcalix [8] arene and their complex in benzene, toluene and carbon tetrachlori de were studied. Their solubilities in these solvents were determined by the spectrophotometric evaluation. The concentration products of fr ee C-60 and tert-butylcalix[8] arene in the saturated solution of the complex were measured by a solution-precipitate equilibrium method. Th e true solubilities of the complex and the equilibrium constants of th e inclusion reaction between C-60 and tert-butylcalix[8] arene were es timated. The influence of solvent and the mechanism of precipitation w ere discussed.
