LISTENER DIFFERENCES IN AUDIO COMPRESSION EVALUATIONS

In perceptual evaluations of audio coders, lack of agreement across li steners is a common problem. Recent studies have suggested that listen ers may differ in fundamental ways. A method is presented for determin ing listener strategies and comparing listeners at a fine level of det ail, and the effects of averaging ratings across listeners are quantif ied.
