We present a numerical model of coastal circulation described by the f
ree-surface Navier-Stokes equations. The classical two-equation k - ep
silon closure model adapted to stratified flows is modified to take ac
count of the non-isotropic effects on turbulence due to buoyancy the C
oriolis force and shallow waters. The objective is to study the influe
nce of turbulence parametrization in the simulation of the wind-driven
coastal upwelling circulation.
