Abstract
The 16S rRNA gene sequences of Salmonella typhi and Salmonella lyphimu rium were amplified by PCR, cloned, and sequenced. These sequences wer e analyzed by comparison with reference organisms from the family Ente robacteriaceae. Both S. typhi and S. typhimurium belong to the gamma s ubdivision of the class Proteobacteria.
