Sq. Xu et N. Kamiya, AN ADAPTIVE BOUNDARY-ELEMENT MESH FOR THE PROBLEM WITH NONLINEAR ROBIN-TYPE BOUNDARY-CONDITION, Advances in engineering software, 28(8), 1997, pp. 533-538
This paper concerns an adaptive boundary mesh for problems with nonlin
ear Robin-type boundary conditions such as thermal radiation using bou
ndary element analysis. The local iteration scheme is used to solve th
e nonlinear system of equations arising from nonlinear boundary condit
ions. The local reanalysis, which measures approximately the sensitivi
ty of the boundary element solution to local mesh changes, is employed
for error estimation. The L-1-norm is used to measure both the local
and global errors. To test the capability of the proposed scheme, an h
-version mesh refinement strategy is described and applied to some two
-dimensional thermal transfer problems having typical Robin-type bound
ary conditions. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Limited.
