Abstract
We review the generation of effective barrier distributions by CCFUS o r similar codes and discuss different aspects associated with the conc ept of eigenchannels. The approximate character of this calculation sc heme and the limitations it imposes on the possibility of extracting p recise nuclear structure information is stressed.
