Eleven highly susceptible periodontitis patients volunteered for a one
-year prospective study of surgical and non-surgical periodontal thera
py. The patients had high oral hygiene standards and had not received
antimicrobial therapy within six months. This study suggests that both
types of therapy are equally effective in treating recurrent lesions.
