Abstract
Independent examinations of 300 patients were conducted to evaluate fi ber optic transillumination's performance in caries detection. FOTI wa s used as an adjunct to clinical and radiographic examinations for car ies, restoration or secondary caries of approximal surfaces in maxilla ry anterior permanent teeth. Clinical and radiographic examinations we re significantly more effective.
