Abstract
Sixteen eyes from 13 patients with exfoliation syndrome and normal int raocular pressure, 17 eyes from 13 patients with exfoliation syndrome and glaucoma, and 28 normal eyes from 20 patients without exfoliation syndrome nor glaucoma were examined. The anterior chamber pigment disp ersions after pupillary dilatation, anterior lens surface pigment part icle, and angle pigmentation were significantly evident in Japanese pa tients with exfoliation syndrome than the normal control, These signs should serve as clues for the ophthalmologists to carefully look for e xfoliation materials in Japanese. No evident differences were detected in clinical signs between the exfoliation eyes with and without glauc oma.
