Anatomical features of wood of 15 coniferous species viz., Abies pindr
ow Royle., Cedrus deodara (Rex. ex Lamb.) G. Don., Cupressus arizonica
Greene., C. funebris Endl., C. sempervirens L., C. torulosa D. Don.,
Juniperus polycarpos C. Koch., Araucaria cookii R.Br., Pinus gerardian
a Wall. ex Lamb., P. halepensis Mill., P. roxburghii Sargent., Picea s
mithiana (Wall) Boiss; P. wallichiana A.B. Jackson; Taxus baccata Zucc
., and Thuja orientalis L., have been described. Wood characteristics
such as variation in growth rings, thickness of early wood and late wo
od tracheids, presence or absence of parenchyma and its distribution,
characteristics of ray; and nature and distribution of resin canals in
the wood have been presented.
