M. Jackowski et al., CORRECTING THE GEOMETRY AND COLOR OF DIGITAL IMAGES, IEEE transactions on pattern analysis and machine intelligence, 19(10), 1997, pp. 1152-1158
A unified method for correcting the geometry and color of digital imag
es is presented. The method uses a color chart with a prearranged arra
y of known color patches. Using the true geometry and color of the cha
rt and geometry and color of the image of the chart, transformation fu
nctions that describe the geometry and color characteristics of the ca
mera are determined. The transformation functions are then used to cor
rect the geometry and color of obtained images. Experimental results o
f the proposed method on images acquired under different scene illumin
ations and camera settings are presented and evaluated.
