NEW FUNCTIONALIZED POLYCONDENSATES

Polyketones, polysulfones and polyamides are presented that contain di fferent types of functional groups located in the main chain or in the side chain of the polycondensates. Functional grous are distyrylpyrid ine, cinnamic acids, and ester groups. One example is presented dealin g with enzymatically catalyzed polycondensation of aniline derivative bearing a chalcon-function. Some interest is focused on photochemical crosslinking of the materials that are suitable to prepare semipermeab le membranes. The successful synthesis of polymerizable dendrimers bas ed on aspartic acid is also described. Finally, the potential synthesi s of polyamides with large ring-components in the main chain is discus sed.
