POLYCONDENSATION ROUTE LEADING TO POLY(ALKYLENE PHOSPHATE)S

A polytransesterification method of preparation of the high-molecular- weight poly(alkylene H-phosphonates) - polymers bearing a reactive -OP (O)(H)O-units, is described: [GRAPHICS] Mechanism of transesterificati on involves mostly -OP(O)(H)O-,Mt(+) ''growing species''. The polyphos phonates were converted into a number of derivative polymers, like pol y(alkylene phosphates), prepared by a direct oxidation, without decrea sing of the (D) over bar (P) over bar(pi) of the parent polymers.
