The N-chlorination of dodecyl dodecanamide (DDA) by ter-butyl hypochlo
rite (tBuOCl) was carried out at 25 degrees C in methylene chloride. T
he conversion is determined by H-1-NMR and iodometric titrations of N-
chlorinated DDA (N-Cl DDA). Curves of conversion-time plots present si
ngular profiles whose shapes are strongly depending on the reagent and
product concentrations.
