Abstract
The dynamic loading applied to a material during an expanding ring exp eriment associates the propagation of a shock wave with a dynamic unia xial tension. It seems judicious to perform a numerical simulation of the test with a finite element code in order to evaluate the various e lements of the experimental assembly (explosive,...), to understand th e mechanical loading really applied to the material and to find the be st numerical method used for the interpretation of the experimental re sults.
