High strain rate mechanical properties are a major concern for each st
eel manufacturer, especially with respect to thin sheet steel used in
the automotive branch. We began to study this topic by starting a proj
ect with the following goals: acquiring reliable experimental data, un
derstanding in depth the energy absorption in thin sheet steel and fin
ding the right constitutive material equation. The first part of the p
roject has been presented in [1]. In this paper we present data comput
ation and comparison with the existing material model theories to expl
oit the experimental data.
