M. Straubinger et al., ISOLATION OF A GLUCOSIDIC BETA-DAMASCENONE PRECURSOR FROM ROSE PETALS, Journal of agricultural and food chemistry, 45(10), 1997, pp. 4053-4056
The 9-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside of 3-hydroxy-7,8-didehydro-beta-ionol (
1) has been isolated from a glycosidic XAD-2 extract obtained from ros
e petals. In addition to the beta-damascenone-generating compound 1, t
he following glycoconjugates have been isolated and characterized as p
eracetates: 3-hydroxy-7,8-dihydro-beta-ionol 9-O-beta-D-glucopyranosid
e (2), 3-hydroxy-7,8-dihydro-beta-ionol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3)
, 2-phenylethyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), 2-phenylethyl-O-beta-D-g
alactopyranoside (5), benzyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (6), -6-hydroxyo
cta-2,7-dienyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (7), (2Z)-2,6-dimethyl-6-hydro
xyocta-2, 7-dienyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (8), and hydroxyocta-2,6-d
ien-8-yl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (9).
