ANALYSIS OF A K-PI-SCATTERING PHASE-SHIFT AND EVIDENCE FOR THE KAPPA(900) MESON

Recently we have given evidence for the existence of the sigma particl e. In these previous works, the pi pi S-wave phase shift is reanalyzed , by introducing a repulsive background suggested by the chiral symmet ry, and by applying the new method of Interfering Breit-Wigner amplitu des. In this work we also show, reanalyzing the K pi S-wave phase shif t from a similar standpoint, evidence for the possible existence of ka ppa(900), to be assigned as a member of the sigma nonet.
