Abstract
In this paper, two-dimensional electromagnetic scattering problems wit h a time-periodic incident held are considered. In the case of a perfe ct conductor scatterer with the presence of an artificial boundary, th e existence of a time-periodic solution is proved. For arbitrary initi al conditions, asymptotic behavior of solutions is characterized. The asymptotic solution can be represented as the time-periodic solution o f the periodically forced scattering problem plus a stationary field. The source of the stationary field is explained, and equations describ ing it are obtained.
