Abstract
The effect of a set of environmental parameters on the pollution indic ators (bacteria) in a high rate oxidation pond has been studied using neural networks (NNs) and regression analysis. The best models establi shed were found to be nonlinear. The obtained results show that NNs ma y be used as a practical tool to control the wastewater treatment. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
