N. Nicol et al., THE ZN-PB MINERALIZATIONS OF THE PIERREFITTE PALEOZOIC SERIES (HAUTES-PYRENEES) WITHIN THE SUCCESSION OF HERCYNIAN TECTONIC EVENTS, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 324(6), 1997, pp. 453-460
The study of the influence of the main Hercynian tectonic phase, H1, o
n the Zn-Pb mineralizations (attributed to an exhalative-sedimentary o
rigin) in the Pierrefitte Palaeozoic series shows the presence of ante
-and syn-kinematic hydrothermal parageneses, cataclasis of fragile sul
phides and flow of ductile sulphides, and the use of schistosity and t
hrust planes as structural control of the redeposition of remobilized
mineralization. These observations suggest that the stratabound bodies
in the Ordovician sequence were formed by remobilization of Devonian
mineralizations, and were controlled by the thrust tectonics H1.
