Abstract
Many animal and viral lectins are specific for monosaccharides found i n particular glycosidic linkages, or for larger oligosaccharide struct ures. Recent crystal structures of complexes between these proteins an d receptor fragments have provided insights into the recognition of li nkage isomers and oligosaccharide conformation.
