Abstract
The saturation number of the [2 + 2] four-membered cross-link between adjacent C-60 molecules in a photopolymerized C-60 film has been deter mined using the intensity of the C 1s shake-up satellite, which origin ates from the pi-pi transition of pi electrons of C-60, by x-ray phot oelectron spectroscopy. It was found that six [2 + 2] rings were forme d on a C-60 molecule when polymerization was saturated. A possible con figuration of the C-60 polymer was postulated on the basis of the satu ration number and the structure of a pristine C-60 film.
