Abstract
The dynamics of two-wave mixing of the fundamental and its third-harmo nic is studied. The eigenmodes of the two-wave mixing and their instab ilities were found on the basis of a Hamiltonian representation of the initial equations. The applications of two-wave mixing to the optical switching of the power are discussed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
