Introducing the Dyson-Maleev transformation, the coherent-state ansatz
and the time-dependent variation principle, we obtain two partial dif
ferential equations of motion in type-I antiferromagnets. Employing th
e method of multiple scales, we reduce these equations into the envelo
pe function equations and force the amplitude function to satisfy a no
nlinear Schrodinger equation. Using the inverse-scattering transformat
ion, we discuss solitary magnon localization, two magnon bound states.
and gap solitons.
