Abstract
Magnetocrystalline anisotropy of Y2Fe17 and of its nitride and hydride s has been measured on magnetically oriented samples. The anisotropy i s defined by the local site anisotropy behavior and in a first approxi mation depends mainly on the lattice expansion along the c axis. (C) 1 997 Elsevier Science S.A.
