Mi. Ryazanov et An. Safronov, MICROSCOPIC THEORY OF HIGH-FREQUENCY TRANSIENT RADIATION IN THE GRAZING-INCIDENCE OF A PARTICLE ON AN INTERFACE, Laser physics, 7(5), 1997, pp. 1068-1075
Within the framework of the microscopic approach, we develop the theor
y of transient radiation in the grazing incidence of a charged particl
e on an interface. The influence of specific features of the electron
density on the surface of a medium on transient radiation is investiga
ted. It is demonstrated that in the case of the grazing incidence of a
charged particle on a surface, transient radiation generated by the s
urface polarization current may have a higher intensity than transient
radiation due to microinhomogeneities in the bulk of a medium.
