J. Ericsson et P. Dahlen, A CONCEPTUAL-MODEL FOR DISRUPTION CAUSES - A PERSONNEL AND ORGANIZATION PERSPECTIVE, International journal of production economics, 52(1-2), 1997, pp. 47-53
Considering that more and more western companies are working in the JI
T-philosophy with smaller and smaller buffer stocks it is important to
increase the knowledge of how disruptions arise in manufacturing syst
ems. This paper describes as investigation of disruptions (downtime, r
ejects, speed losses) at 12 different Swedish manufacturing systems. W
ith the help of a model which we have developed, the underlying causes
of different disruptions have been mapped for the investigated manufa
cturing systems. The special conditions found in Sweden during the las
t years have motivated us to include factors outside the company in th
e developed disruption model.
