Abstract
Daily rainfall in Cayenne (French Guyana) was collected between Januar y and October 1995 and analyzed for major ions and environmental isoto pes. Chloride is always the major anion and sulfate the second most pr ominent one. Nitrates and bicarbonates are also present but with lower contents. For cations, the order of predominance is not constant with time. The relationship between delta(2)H and delta(18)O on the monthl y rainfall and punctual rainfall events is delta(2)H = 10.43 + 7.72 de lta(18)O; R = 0.99.
