In this paper we present simulations of an extragalactic jet interacti
ng with a clumpy and filamentary narrow line region (NLR) similar to t
he one observed in NGC 1068. We study the kinematic disturbance produc
ed by the interaction. H alpha recombination emissivity maps and the s
pectral distribution of the emission are calculated. We find that abla
tion flows from high density clouds in the turbulent cocoon can produc
e fast, high emissivity flows, resulting in line widths of the order o
f 1000 km s(-1) comparable to those observed in NGC 1068 and other Sey
fert galaxies with radio ejecta.
