FIRST VALIDATION STUDIES CONCERNING A GERMAN VERSION OF METZ STYLES-OF-CONFLICT-INVENTORY (SCI)

A German version of the ''Styles of Conflict Inventory'' (SCI) was val idated in a preliminary study including a sample of 88 healthy and neu rotic volunteers. Factor analyses' confirmed the dimensional structure of the scales assertion, aggression, withdrawal, submission and denia l. Discriminant analysis studies, furthermore, revealed the SCI to rep resent a powerful instrument in discriminating between healthy women a nd women suffering from panic disorder/agoraphobia. The German version of the SCI, therefore, turned out not only to have good reliability a nd validity, but also seems to be of great clinical importance.
