The paper reports new complex compounds of Cu(II) and Pd(II) with the
title ligands. A correlation of elemental analysis, IR spectra, electr
onic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements sugge
sts that these compounds are of the type [MLX] in which M = Cu(II), Pd
(II), L = organic Ligands L-I or L-II and X = Cl-, C2O42-. L-I and L-I
I act as bidentate or tridentate ligands and their complex compounds h
ave a planar square or a distorted tetrahedral geometry.
