Abstract
The effect of the ether groups introduced in the glycol diesters molec ules on their compatibility with polyvinylchloride is presented in thi s paper. Our investigations on the diesters of 1,5-pentandiol, as well as of diethylenglycol or triethylenglycol, with phenoxyacetic acid an d alkylphenoxyacetic acids respectively, show that changing a CH2 grou p from the glycol with an oxygen atom decreases their compatibility wi th PVC. This decrease is emphasized by the increase of the number of e ther groups.
