SEQUENTIAL H-MIGRATION REACTIONS IN THE FORMATION OF [OS-3(MU(2)-H)(MU(2)-PHME)(CO)(10)] AND [OS-3(MU(2)-H)(2)(MU(3)-PME)(CO)(9)] DURING THE REACTION BETWEEN THE PHOSPHINIDENE COMPLEX [W(PME)(CO)(5)] AND [OS-3(MU(2)-H)(2)(CO)(10)]

The transient phosphinidene complex [W(PMe)(CO)(5)] reacts with the un
saturated [Os-3(mu(2)-H)(2)(CO)(10)] cluster to afford [Os-3(mu(2)- H)
(mu(2)-PHMe)(CO)(10)] and subsequently [Os-3(mu(2)-H)(2)(mu(3)-PMe)(CO
)(9)] via H-migration reactions involving both transfer from Os to P a
nd from P to Os. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
