Abstract
A compact linear array microstrip antenna operating in the X-band is d escribed. This antenna, which has a two-layer structure, is fed rising a microstrip slot aperture, and consists of electromagnetically coupl ed resonators. The advantage of this design is a size reduction of the antenna, compared to conventional array antennas, without an alterati on of the performances. Experimental results for the return loss and t he radiation patterns of the antenna are presented, and we demonstrate the usefulness of the techniques for a monolithic realization, especi ally at millimeter wavelengths.
