Abstract
Reactions of [{NbCl3(dme)}(n)] or [NbCl3(dme)(RC=CR')] with a heterocy cle containing alpha-keto stabilized phosphorus ylide, 2-TCMP = 2-thia zolylcarbonyl}methylene]triphenyphosphorane, allowed the synthesis of the first alpha-keto ylide niobium complexes, [{NbCl3(2-TCMP)}(2)] and [NbCl3(2-TCMP)(RC=CR')] respectively. The new complexes were spectros copically characterized and the X-ray molecular structure for one of t hem was also determined. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
