Abstract
A series of new porphyrin polymers in which the porphyrin units are li nked by a variety of controllable oligophenylenevinylene bridges has b een synthesized. The new materials are soluble and thermally stable wi th strong fluorescence properties that suggest limited electronic comm unication between the chromophore and conjugated bridge in solution.
